Well it is a bit of a long story, but the condensed version goes something like this…

Three lads from New York, each with very different lives and paths, have this crazy convergence in Argentina. The idea is to explore the opportunities of investing in the wine business, making a substantial investment and build a home…without getting reamed. Two of us were gung-ho. The other was our token naysayer. The problem was that the deeper we dove, and the more people we met with, interviewed, vetted, and drank delicious and abundant bottles of Argentinian wine with, the deeper we got sucked in. All day, all night…whatever it took. We were like Alice into the rabbit hole – we were falling deeper and deeper in love with the idea that this beautiful place was for us. The wild west (sort of) what Napa or Sonoma might have been like when the first crazies called it “wine country”. By the time we got back to the airport in Mendoza, heading back to New York, through BA, we found ourselves, completely sober – well , more or less – but nonetheless completely convinced that this was going to be a hell of an adventure. With beers – yes, beers – in our hands, we clinked bottles and congratulated ourselves for a job well, done. The idea was set in motion, the 3 Ws were all in. Oh, yea and there is a story about how the 3Ws got their name, but we’ll save that for later.
